VAWA – 30th Anniversary!
Happy Friday.
You may have all heard that the White House is planning a 30th anniversary of VAWA celebration at the White House with Joe and Jill Biden on September 12th, 2024 at 5:45p.m. It is my understanding that it is an invitation-only event.
Two friends of mine have been invited to attend. One is a victim advocate who has served in that capacity in North Carolina for at least the past 30 plus years when I first met her. The other is a former law enforcement officer who has helped reshape the way LE officers respond to domestic violence calls.
Kit Gruelle and Mark Wynn both have very compelling and heart-wrenching personal experiences that have given them first-hand insight of the manipulation and control of domestic violent offenders.
I am proud to know them and proud to call both of them my friend.
I am not sure if others of you may also have received a personal invitation to attend this event. In the event that you haven’t, I asked Kit and Mark if they would be willing to meet with you via Zoom to discuss this event and any information that you might like to share with them or ask of them.
If such a meeting is something that you would find useful, please let me know and (depending on overall interest) we can plan to meet with both of them on Thursday, September 5th at 2:00pm EST.
